Preventive Treatments

Bold Dental offers a range of preventive treatments, including professional dental cleanings and fluoride varnish. Our team also performs oral cancer screenings at each dental checkup using Oral ID, a light that detects abnormal cells. Early oral cancer detection can be life-saving.
Dental Sealants
PROTECTION AGAINST DECAY
Dental sealants are thin protective layers placed on the chewing surfaces of your back teeth. The molars have deep grooves and crevices that make them more susceptible to decay than front teeth. Sealants act as a barrier to keep bacteria and food particles from becoming lodged in the pits of your teeth. They also make it easier for you to clean these teeth effectively at home. And though most people think of dental sealants as a children’s dental treatment, they are extremely beneficial for any age group.
Dental Fillings
DURABLE RESTORATIONS
At Bold Dental, we offer both tooth-colored and amalgam fillings. Tooth-colored fillings are a popular choice because they blend in beautifully with your natural smile. Not all insurance plans will cover tooth-colored fillings, so we do still offer amalgam fillings as an alternative. Amalgam fillings are a tried-and-tested treatment that replaces enamel compromised by decay. For deep decay, our team will use a special dental laser to carefully prepare the area and preserve as much natural tooth as possible.
Root Canals
STOP PAIN AND SAVE YOUR TEETH
Dr. Williams can perform root canal treatment on both your anterior (front) teeth and molars (back teeth). The tissue inside the tooth contains all its nerves and blood vessels, which is why it usually causes a painful ache if inflamed. During a root canal, Dr. Williams numbs the tooth completely before removing the infected tissue. We will always make sure you remain comfortable and relaxed throughout your appointment. Once he thoroughly cleans the root canal, Dr. Williams will seal the tooth and create a custom-made crown to go over it for further support.
Dental Crowns
ENHANCE AND STRENGTHEN A DAMAGED TOOTH
If you have to have a dental crown to protect a decayed or broken tooth, we will use a laser to prepare the surrounding gum tissue. This allows us to get better digital impressions for the most precise-fitting crown. You can choose from zirconia, porcelain, gold, PFM (porcelain fused to metal), e.max, or Empress for your crown material. Kids’ crowns that cover baby teeth are typically stainless steel.
We custom make all our dental crowns on-site using our own dental lab. Since we don’t have to coordinate with an outside lab, we can provide faster turnaround times and offer a higher level of customization.
Tooth Extractions (Including Wisdom Teeth)
OFFERING SURGICAL AND NONSURGICAL TREATMENTS
Bold Dental can assist with both simple and surgical tooth extractions, as well as wisdom tooth removal. This keeps you from having to see an oral surgeon for the extractions you need. Dr. Williams can do single-socket preservation in-office as well to keep your future tooth-replacement options open. Oral conscious sedation is available to keep you feeling calm and relaxed during treatment.
Periodontal Therapy
COMBAT GUM DISEASE
Periodontal therapy is all about addressing your gum health. Gum disease is a common concern, and chronic inflammation will eventually lead to jawbone loss and tooth mobility if left unchecked. Common signs of gum disease are persistent bad breath, swollen or tender gums, receding gums, and abscesses. At Bold Dental, we have multiple periodontal therapy treatments available to help you get your gums back to a healthy state.
Nightguards and Mouth Guards
PROTECT YOUR TEETH FROM INJURY
Bold Dental can provide custom-made nightguards and mouth guards. We ensure a perfect fit by using digital impressions and then create your new appliance on-site in our lab using 3D printing technology.
Nightguards are great for patients who grind their teeth in their sleep. This is a condition called bruxism. The nightguard keeps the teeth from rubbing against each other and wearing down the enamel, as well as forces the jaw to relax. Mouth guards, also called sports guards, are useful for adults and children who play all kinds of contact sports. A mouth guard cushions the teeth and softens the impact in the event of an oral injury. Both nightguards and mouth guards provide an extra layer of protection that can really make a difference and help you safeguard your smile.
Sedation Dentistry
FOR RELAXED AND COMFORTABLE TREATMENT
Bold Dental has two sedation dentistry options available to keep you comfortable during treatment: nitrous oxide and oral conscious sedation. Nitrous oxide, also known as happy gas or laughing gas, is a gentle option that wears off nearly immediately after treatment. Oral conscious sedation, alternatively, is a technique that uses prescription medication to give you a deeper sense of relaxation, although you are still awake. If you feel anxious about your upcoming visit, ask our team about our sedation options.
Frenectomies
GENTLE TREATMENT TO RELEASE TONGUE- AND LIP-TIES
A frenectomy is a surgical treatment that modifies a frenulum. In your mouth, there are three prominent frenulums: one located underneath the tongue, one between the upper lip and the gums, and one between the lower lip and the gums. We use a soft tissue laser or scalpel, depending on the case, to release a tight tie that causes functional issues. Frenectomy treatment is completely safe and frequently used in babies and young children to correct lip-tie and tongue-tie conditions. These conditions can affect feeding and nutrition.
